We are constantly adding to the list of trips and events, so please keep checking back to the calendar page, and also our Facebook page.
We run trips for divers of all levels of experience:
- For new and less experienced UK divers, we will be running a number of local 1 day and weekend trips, suitable also as gentle ‘warm ups’ for some of the deeper dives. Watch this space for exact dates and locations coming soon!
- For you more experienced recreational divers, Ken Powell has featured many of the trips now on his website www.diversonline.co.uk and even more trips are to be loaded soon. We have uploaded details onto the Aquanaut calendar as well. Very very exciting as we have the Scilly Isles, Anglesey, Scapa / Orkney and some overseas trips as well including Nemo 33, Maldives, Cypus Zenobia and Norway. Details of Iceland are also to follow.
- For the technical divers, we are currently selecting some wrecks to investigate, particularly 1 day trips. We will be linking with Diving Matrix, to enable more trips to happen!
Hopefully there is something for everyone …. so let’s dive!
This calendar is live which you can link to your phone (if you’ve got a fancy iPhone or other smart phone).

Shallow UK 'Warm Up' Weekend Portland
DATES
•4th / 5th May
•18th /19th May
•15th / 16th June
Grab your mask and fins and come on down to Portland for a weekend and log some of your first UK dives! These are specially constructed weekends for those who want to dip their toe in UK waters for the first time, gain some UK experience or maybe take a nice easy shallow dive for the first dive of the season.
The trips are designed to help you find your fins and gain confidence. We will look after you, help you and guide you. This is your chance to ask questions, learn boat ettiquette, try new kit etc. No question is too silly and no request for help or advice will be scowled upon!
The trips were put together in response to newly qualified divers struggling to get on to trips with little or no experience. People learning to dive abroad often struggle to get onto a boat in the UK with little or no experience, as do newly qualified UK divers. Many clubs want you to have experience before booking on their trips. The Intro to UK diving trips are designed to bridge this gap. So long as you have completed your Open Water course, BSAC Ocean Diver or equivalent, you can come on this trip. The maximum depth on this trip will be 18m.
We are diving off RIBS (Rigid Inflatable Boat) which gives us great flexibility in dive sites and means we can come back to shore between dives.
We aim to dive the Black Hawk, a shallow wreck with lots of life, including lobster, tom-pot blennies and wrasse, we'll show you how to dive for Scallops, how to spot Nudibranchs and snoop out the elusive but beautiful Conga Eels. We'll talk you through DSMB deployment as well, although we recommend a pool session to practice first!
Accommodation IS INCLUDED in the price and will be at The Royal Breakwater Hotel which is a 5 minute drive from Scimitar and does good food and beer and a hearty breakfast with free parking outside! So, two night's accommodation (Fri & Sat) and four RIB dives and the chance to log your first UK dives on some of the best shallow wrecks on the south coast! Cost of diving and accomodation (B&B) is £196 for 2 days, all you need is beer and evening meal money and fills.

This is a recreational wreck, reef and seal trip for 12 divers, including 8 dives over 3 days and 2 nights B&B.
Join us in this beautiful Scottish borders location to dive the clear waters off the Berwickshire coast which have long been considered special by marine biologists as they contain a fantastic abundance and diversity of marine life and spectacular underwater scenery. Grey seals can be seen almost anywhere along the coast at just about any time of year. Whales, dolphins and porpoises (cetaceans), can also be seen throughout the year but the summer is the time when there are most sightings.
This charter is booked with DiveStay aboard the excellent Wavedancer, a new purpose built dive boat. Her skipper, Billy Aitchison has twenty-five years experience sailing these waters with the last ten as a dive boat skipper, so we can be confident Billy knows the best dive sites to be found here.
This trip costs £235, it includes eight dives across three days and two nights accommodation on Friday, 14 & Saturday 15 June 2013 and a cooked breakfast.

Trip Iceland
Dive some of the most stunningly clear water in the world. It’s an experience unlike any other.
A group of Aquanaut Divers are flying out with Iceland Air on 27th June, and back on 2nd July. Whilst there, they will be doing a 3 day dive tour to include 2 ocean dives, 1 dive at the geothermal underwater hot springs in Lake Kleifarvatn and 2 dives in Silfra. We will visit the National Park Þingvellir and the geothermal area Krýsuvík on the Reykjanes peninsula.
The SILFRA Rift (above) is an absolute world class dive site due to two main reasons.
First of all you will be diving in a crack between the American and Eurasian continents.
It’s the place where the continental plates meet and drift apart about 2cm per year. Secondly the visibility that you will experience will rarely be surpassed, if ever. 100m+! The reasons for this clarity are twofold: the water is cold ( 2°C – 4°C all year ) since it’s the melting water from a glacier about 50km away and has traveled through the lava fields for many years before coming out at the north end of Thingvellir lake through underground wells.
The recently discovered geothermal under water hot springs of Kleifarvatn are something very special.

Club Norway Expedition
NORWAY EXPEDITION 6-15 July 2013
Norway has some of the best diving in the world, you can explore incredible underwater cliffs, stupendous walls, awesome drop offs, swim-throughs and caves. Scenic diving is everywhere with an abundant and rich diversity of marine life (some unfamiliar), on walls, reefs and wrecks – all in the clear waters of the Scandinavian Peninsula.
However, it is the wreck diving that makes Norway unique and one of the must dive locations for all metal enthusiasts. Many intact wrecks start near the surface while the remainder of the wreck is at a gradual incline making them suitable for novice and expert divers alike with no special equipment being necessary, unless you plan to go beyond recreational limits. Our trip begins in the beautiful port of Bergen, gateway to the Fjords which are on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The first part of our journey takes us to the Sognefjord where we will experience some of the best scenic and wreck diving in this area, and then some. From Sognefjord, we head further north to Malloy where we’ll dive in pristine fjords on the famous wrecks in this area. The choice of dive sites is vast and varied and our skipper has plenty of experience diving in these waters. As you can see, this trip is ideal for both recreational and technical divers alike.
Our final destination is the beautiful coastal town of Ålesund. Like a Norwegian Venice it has water on all sides, canals, bridges and stunning Jugend style architecture.
This trip costs £1,290 it includes: EIGHT days diving, (minimum two dives each day), nine nights on board accommodation sharing twin-bunk cabins
